Chitwan National Park Safari Overview

National Parks located mainly in the Terai regions in Nepal attracts visitors from all over the world. A visit to these parks involves game stalking by a variety of means like the foot, dugout canoe, jeep, and elephant backs. One is bound to sight a one-horned rhino or two at every elephant safari. Besides the rhinos, wild boars, sandburs, spotted deer, sloth bear; four-horned antelope are also usually seen. A Royal Bengal Tiger may surprise you by his majestic appearance.
Nature walk or jungle walk is another way of experiencing the wilderness. Jungle walks give, close-up opportunities to view animals as well as observe their tracks, signs, and sounds. Early morning and late- afternoon walk is the best to avoid the midday heat.

P.S
The famous lodges to stay are Jungle Safari Lodge, Green Park Resort, Taj Sarai, Barahi Jungle Lodge, Island Jungle Resort, Paradise hotel, Green Mansion Lodge.

• DUGOUT CANOE TRIP
Down the Rapti river, it offers views of water birds: brilliant blue Eurasian kingfishers, egrets, osprey, and ruddy she drakes. A pair of binoculars is a must for bird watching.

• A JEEP SAFARI
Through the jungle, it provides more game spotting opportunities than might be expected otherwise, because it goes deeper into the forest, usually beyond the beaten tracks. After the thrill of elephant rides, nature walks, and jeep safaris, visitors can splash around in the swimming pools that some of the resorts offer.

• BIRD WATCHING
Nepal is a paradise for bird lovers with over 848 species (almost 8% of the world’s total) of birds. And among them, nearly 500 hundred species are found in the Kathmandu Valley alone. The most popular bird watching spots in Kathmandu are Phulchoki, Godavari, Nagarjun, Bagmati River, Taudaha and so on. Get your binoculars and look forward to a rewarding experience.

P.S
Nepal Jungle Safari can be added to any adventure you choose from our tour/trek packages for one night to 3 nights from simple lodges to deluxe hotels/resorts in Chitwan.

From Australia, but currently living in Bangalore, I travelled to Nepal with my partner, sister and her partner in November 2016. From the planning stages, Rajan was super helpful and efficient in responding to my questions and worked with me to design an itinerary to meet our needs. All the accommodation options recommended were perfect - Hotel Tibet International in Kathmandu, Temple Tree Resort in Pokhara and the Bahari Jungle Lodge in Chitwan. Our guide in Kathmandu, Tulsi, was amazingly knowledgeable and kept us learning all day by giving us pop quizzes - which we found fun and hilarious. Our city tour of Lalitpur and meeting the Kumari was particularly interesting and informative. The burning of the bodies at Pushupatinath Temple was especially emotional and special to share with him. Bharat, our guide in Pokhara was a lovely young guy who recommended great places to eat and took us to the best sunrise we have ever seen at Sarangkot. Chitwan National Park was equally as exciting and well organised - on various safaris (one by elephant, one by jeep, one by canoe) we spotted 6 rhinos (including baby rhino), a jungle cat, various types of deer, monkeys and others. would highly recommend Barahi Jungle Lodge for these activities. Lastly, our drivers Deepak and Ramesh were lovely and very patient with the bumpy roads in regional areas and busy city traffic in Kathmandu. All in all, an absolutely wonderful holiday - I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Earthbound Expeditions to anyone travelling to Nepal. No matter how long or short a time you have, you'll be blown away by their humble professionalism and friendliness at every turn.
