October and December can be considered as one of the best seasons to visit Nepal, the skies remains blue and clear, the mountains gives a spectacular view. During these months, the weather remains dry. Also Late Spring (May) is another good time to travel to the hills and mountains of Nepal. During May the hills are covered with the blossoms of the rhododendron.
When is the best season to trek / travel in Nepal?
The best season for trek in Nepal is half of February to June and September to early December. Half of February to First week of June: From the half of February until the first part of June temperatures are relatively warm, 10° to 15° warmer than in the fall. Mornings are bright and clear with the air slowly becoming hazier as the day progresses. The rhododendron forests in springtime are spectacular, with color displays that are “Himalayan” in beauty. June is warm and green with many fewer people – the sense of solitude is much greater than other seasons.
September to half of December: September to early December is an ideal time for the best mountain views. The days are typically sunny and clear with moderate temperatures and the evenings are usually quite cold.
Visiting Nepal in December – February
Late December to February, Nepal's weather remains pleasant during the days but the temperature drops significantly during the nights in the mountain region. From late December through to February, Nepal's weather is pleasant during the day. January is the coldest month in Nepal and hence only fewer travelers results in quieter sightseeing opportunities of beautiful mountains and sceneries in Nepal. Due to this reason, hotels and lodges offers fireplace, warm blankets and hot water for drinking in the Himalayan region.
Visiting Nepal in March – May
March is the beginning of Spring in Nepal and the temperature gradually increases. Rhododendrons in the dense forest blooms during the month of March. Days are longer during although the temperature are still cold at night during March and April. March to May is the popular time to travel in Nepal. May is one of the warmest months of the year but will bring cloud and showers before the monsoon arrives.
